IIS 7.0 – probably the best web server in the world
by Eric Nelson
Internet Information Server 6 (IIS) is a great choice for running ColdFusion sites – but IIS 7.0 is even better. In this session we will explore the role of IIS 7.0 in the delivery of great ColdFusion sites – from simplified administration to many more advanced features. Administration topics covered include the new ApplicationHost.config (a complete replacement for the metabase), the new IIS7 Manager GUI and the new AppCmd command line tool. Many advanced features will also be explored such as extending IIS with .NET, exciting improvements in the area of fault finding (e.g. Request Tracing) and improved security.
Upon leaving you should understand why IIS7.0 is a great choice for ColdFusion development and have many new areas to explore further.
The session assumes some experience of working with IIS 6.0 or an equivalent web server.
